Goldfish Lantern Pachinko
The game center's pachinko corner: a light-odds digital pachinko (甘デジ, 1 in 99.9) whose balls are lent for medals, 10 to a medal. Turn the handle, shoot the balls through the nails into the start pocket, and line up three lanterns.

The return of a pachinko machine is the balls it pays back for every ball fired, in the long run. Balls are lent and counted back at the same rate, so it is what your medals bring back too, the counter’s rounding aside. Everything here is worked out exactly, as fractions, as a Markov reward process over the mode, the holds, the spin, the hit’s rounds and the spins left of ST or quick spins.
Skill counts: the strength chooses where the balls go, and stopping at four holds and between rounds saves balls. But the lottery chooses the hits, and no way of playing brings back as many balls as it takes.
The fraction runs to 450 digits.

How it works
- 5 medals lend 50 balls; the counter gives a medal for every 10 balls, rounded down.
- A ball is fired every 0.6 seconds while the handle is held. Where it goes is drawn ahead, in a press of LEND or of the handle; the strength chooses which way the nails’ throw drawn for it leads.
- The start pocket pays 3 and takes a hold when fewer than 4 wait. Each hold carries a lottery number (0 to 65,535) drawn as it is taken; its spin is a hit if the number is under the odds as it starts: 656 (1 in 99.9) in normal play and quick spins, 1,638 (1 in 40.0) in ST.
- A spin is plain, a reach or a super reach. Each of its phases ends at each 0.6 s with a chance of its own; in normal play, a plain spin runs faster the more holds wait.
- A hit from the start pocket: 10 rounds and ST 5%, 4 rounds and ST 45%, 4 rounds and quick spins 50%. From the electric tulip: 10 rounds and ST 30%, 4 rounds and ST 70%. A round closes when 10 balls are in; each pays 10. Real machines close the attacker after 30 seconds as well; this one waits for its ten.
- ST is 30 spins at 1 in 40.0, quick spins 20 at 1 in 99.9, the electric tulip open and catching every ball shot right (1 back each). Its holds spin first; the start pocket’s wait. When the spins run out, the tulip’s holds left spin at the normal odds.
- Skip only fast-forwards. The machine waits while this tab is open. A hit left in the middle is played out at strength 6, ten balls a round, as perfect play does.
The seven strengths
Of every 128 throws of the nails: where a ball shot at each strength goes. The tulip and the attacker take a ball only while open.

FLOOR JACKPOT
+ 1% of every medal played goes to the floor jackpot: the site adds 1 medal for every 100 you play, on top of what you play. Nothing is taken out of it, so this machine’s own return is exactly as shown.
Each medal played is also a 1 in 150,000 chance to win the whole pool, which starts again at 1,000 medals once it is won. In the long run it brings back 1.67 medals for every 100 played, but only in the long run: most players never win it.
It is for players who are signed in and have joined the floor, on the first 20,000 medals each plays in a day (Japan time) at the linked machines, with one floor jackpot a day at most.
Like the rankings, the floor jackpot is for fun. The medals played that feed it are what players’ browsers report: the site checks each report against what that machine allows, but it cannot prove it. The draw itself is made on the site’s server, never in a browser.
